NATURAL DISASTER

You make a mistake.
When you were trying to hard not to crack.
Not to break.
Then this good world you know starts to rumble.
Starts to shake.
So you try to wait it out,
But that’s when the after shock comes.
It’s more destructive then the initial shock.
Your life will never be the same.
It’s all a mess.
Your foundations ripped apart.
Pieces strewn across the serrated terrain.
Kind of like your heart.
You pause to survey the scene.
The earthquake wasn’t the cause.
You destroyed your own life,
And tried to run away when it all came falling down.
When the tsunami came you saw it.
You expected not to drown.
No this mess isn’t caused by a natural disaster.
This wreck us caused by you,
And it’s all in your head.
You can’t escape.
Maybe this is what anxiety feels like.
