Sad Tale of Writers Block

So here we go. Writers block. Something I feel sure many of you are all too familiar with.
I am currently in the middle of 6 excellent articles. Excellent in that I feel they are good, solid ideas and will be appealing to those reading. Sadly, although all of them are in a very advanced state, for some stupid reason I can’t seem to get them finished.
I bring up a document and read it through. Good. Now what? No new ideas arrive. So I read a few emails. I read a few articles on Medium, hoping for inspiration. I check out some animal videos. I read more articles.
I visit the cats. First a few minutes with our newest adoption, the bad tempered Mo.

Then pat the beautiful and fluffy Taffy

Next, my fave. The ever friendly Gandalf the Grey.

The cat visiting process has killed 10 minutes,
Back to the computer. Stare at the screen for a bit. No new ideas arrive. Screen begins to go out of focus in front of me. Play a few games of patience. Lose them. Nothing new comes.
Go downstairs to refresh my water thermos. Stare out the window at the annoying snow.

Back up and stare at the screen. Drink some ice water. Choke.
Feel a headache coming on. Go and take an Advil.
Lie on the floor and stare at the ceiling. This doesn’t help, now I have a sore back. Go to another room and stare out the window. Check out what all the neighbours are doing. Think about the next round of snow clearing that will need to be done before it gets too wet and heavy (there is a warm trend coming today).

Return to the screen and stare at article again. Still no inspiration.
