There are beautiful gardens everywhere. Near the beach, in the park, in front of the houses, by the road…

The Benz are an international couple (German-English). Mr. Benz is a cook. Mrs. Benz goes to poetry reading meetings organized in their neighborhood. They have two children: a young boy and a little baby girl. I’m staying in their house, sharing the guest room with Denis, a young french boy a bit younger than myself.

My group of English language students from Catalonia is sharing this delicious South England coast village with a few more groups from different countries, in Europe and beyond.

We visit a Fishing Museum, play a soccer match against a team of young arabs who play barefoot, go fishing on a boat, walk through the streets of the village, race on donkeys in the “Donkey Derby” and go to the village disco on Friday evenings to see the french girls like Dominique dance.
