Thanks

Dark clouds curtained the sky —
 It looked to me like rain;
A tear stood in my eye:
It seemed I prayed in vain.
I could take it no more,
I lay in doldrums’ clutch:
The one whom I adore
Was far beyond my touch —
But then the sun broke thro,’
Melting away the pall:
I got a call from you —
It took just one ’phone call!
Thanks for bearing in mind
I can’t bear it alone;
Thanks for being so kind;
Thank God for telephones!
