It was literally not the one I was looking forward to, but yeah! You come across some unconventional people, atleast once in your lifetime. It makes you rethink your perspectives of every single instance and re-evaluate what you call as happiness, your goals and your acquaintances around.
Whether lucky or not, I found friends in a few who were a decade or so elder through some of my work experiences, and days planned on creative events.
The journey of the last fifteen years, and their mind boggling careers speak for themselves. And let me put this out to you before I proceed with the career lines, they are still best friends with people whom they met years ago. The same batch, reunions and what not? It has the same zest as it was, though meeting often was a rarity to them.
Sometimes, I really wonder as to the number of friendships I can literally count on in our generation for decades together though we have n number of ways on social media to conversate. (except for a few of my already-turned-out ten year old bonds).
Slowly, all the plans I had to do with my newly earned money, shifts to being give-away gifts. As and when I grew up, my importance of having amazing work experiences, a trustworthy team of family and friends became my priority. Their stories of “I travelled the world and had the most scariest yet interesting work experiences” motivates me to become one such story-teller one such day.
Lucky or not, they eventually turned out to be personal mentors, someone who I foresee myself as, ten years down the lane. Deep friendships, honest conversations with the right people, genuinely motivating and soulful relationships and people who trigger a sense of my inner self are all that I wish to make time for in the near future.
In a highlighting way, not one spoke to me about their cars, big houses and the money they made. All that matters in the end, is to lead an experiential life and a long-standing learning from them for a lifetime.
If you ever get a chance to meet one of them, begin one such conversation and I’m sure you would add on to these perspectives.😊
