These Children deserved better (Gorakhpur Tragedy)

Two days from now, India will be celebrating the birth of the beloved God Lord Krishna along with the 70th Independence Day. Crores will be spent on mass celebrations by both Government and the citizens across the country to shower their love and prayers for both their religion and Nation.
To me this year, I refuse to celebrate rather I am mourning in the wake of the massacre of 60 children at the Medical College, Gorakhpur. What is there to celebrate? Birth of a deity who exists in the holy scriptures or nation who is happy about celebrating and cherishing the 70 years of religion, caste and race based politics or the death of real life Radha’s and Kanha’s died due to the sheer negligence of us Indians.
I feel saddened, sorry, disgusted and ashamed that we live in the country where our nation mourns the dead based on the color of the coffin. Nothing could be horrific than the loss of beautiful lives, be it due to lack of oxygen or not. Further disappointing is that no one is taking the accountability rather the leaders we chose to represent and fix our system are justifying that it is not due to the inadequate supply of oxygen rather it happened after the supply was resumed. For the God sake, in any scenario it happened, it can’t be justified.
Few statements will be given, Dear prime minister might mourn the loss during his Independence Day speech or “Man ki baat”, Chief minister will initiate the inquiries, Congress leaders will do a customary visit and the messiah of Dalits, Muslims, and even our beloved common man leaders might not even visit or offer their condolence on twitter because it is not the death of a Dalit student from any university or the death of a Muslim due to Cow slaughter.
Health minister should hang his head in shame, he is the one who is supposed to ensure the good medical facilities and diagnosis for all the citizens and furthermore he should at least learn from his grandfather Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, who resigned being rail minister after the train accident during his tenure. Let alone taking the responsibility, he said that children die every year in August and justified the death as a regular phenomenon.
I think we deserve this, because to us things like healthcare, education, clean water and energy is not a priority. For us; temples, mosques, borders, nukes, Hindu, Kashmir, Muslims, Yogis, Modis, Gandhi’s, Dalits and cows have priority. The head of the country must speak and address; He must ensure that this should not be repeated.
Bells of temples are ringing in my heads with a chant “Haahti Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Laal Ki” and I see people celebrating as if nothing happened.
To me the right to freedom will be effective, the day we will have our kids smiling and living without the fear of losing their lives to the irresponsible system.
We are losing it India, we are losing it.
