What is the use to things if you become too used to things?

I am not a robot. My mind doesn’t do well locked into a default setting. A lack of change. Even a good default setting just lacks. The mind must feed on a diversified collage of item and experience. A lack of diversity is a lack of primal sustenance. I am not a robot. I am animalistic in my hunger.

I cannot become too used to the items; I cannot become too used to the experiences of my life.

When I lock into a default, I begin to look at items and experiences based on what use they may have to me in providing some fulfilling and flourishing life. Then, to myself, I wonder:

“What use do these things have in providing me with that missing life?”

But what is the use to things if you become too used to things?

There can be no perfection that is not also a default. Such a state is no state of perfection at all, because where nothing can progress for the better, there is no potential for true change.

There is no such thing as a state that cannot progress for the better.

And that is for the better.

Thank you for reading, as always.
