Why I will never use elevator in office

Everyone gets joy when they hear they can use elevator in office, that too in hot cities like Chennai. But the fact with me is that I never get that feel whenever I see a elevator, what I see is an anonymous machine that carries me between floors :P

But behind all the philosophy, there are certain reasons which stops me from using the elevators.

Health Concerns

I prefer using stairs over the elevator as it can be my everyday exercise. My office is at second floor, thus climbing up and down two floors everyday covers nearly 50 steps, which makes me feel fresh and active when I enter the office, behind that I don’t need any special exercise like jogging and even I can say bye to gym.

Laziness

I’m a kind of person who feels lazy to enter a machine press the buttons to choose the floor and wait for a few seconds for the doors to close, and only then the travel happens. But the worst part is when someone in inside the elevator wants to exit in intermediate floors, that will create additional boring moments, and at least while reaching our floor I’ll be already pushed into a deep boredom. Rather suffering from these, I can simply use stairs.

Stupid Fear

From my childhood days I was threatened by people about elevator stories like

What if it got stucked somewhere, What if the power goes off for the elevator when you’re inside. What if the elevator takes a free fall.

These type things flashes in my mind every time I enter the elevator

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
