Wishes

No one ever dies on Facebook.
They can only be unfriended.

How can I touch that blue icon?
You are no less for your absence.

A digital cog rolled round, clicked,
Reminding me it’s your birthday,

Asking me to help you celebrate,
Though it made me feel the opposite.

Instead, through ether’s medium,
I will send you birthday wishes.

If you haven’t traveled too far,
Perhaps you will still receive them.

May your dreams for earth be realized.
May your hopes for man be fulfilled.
May heaven receive you and send you back.

You always did believe in recycling.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
