Why ripping off someone’s idea is a real bad choice?
Since today morning, when we found out about this ripped off cheap plagiarized work of ours — the entire team still laughing out loud, Albeit with a feeling of anger of course.
Some moron rookie proved his / her metal when they tried to mimic what we did on our website with months of dedication, debates and sleepless nights at work for www.indianic.com, and failed flat on face down with a miserable copy!!!
The fractured clone of our work can be seen at www.imprecare.com with utterly creepy implementation of our original version.
This company called Imprecare (See definition) based very near to our HO was so much impressed with our design that they did not even change our content and are currently helping us market our self more 😇. It indeed is a scary experience of getting misunderstood by your family when they see your doppelgänger :). After seeing their scary version, we really feel like a Celebrity coming across his own look-a-like 😜.
While this is not the first time we’ve faced this — but it certainly happened after quite a while. As an original author of the whole idea, content and the design, it is really agitating to see someone really spying on you so hard, and so desperately, that they can’t resist to be what you are.
The Detail of the Theft
So here’s the interesting stuff after our initial finding (Yes, we were so curious to investigate what was stolen, and it really did brought out some hilarious revelations, with a repeating proof of how foolish the entire act was).

And this copy? Well there are many in theirs.
Blindfolded Copy.
While copying — they were so blind folded that they even didn’t remove the original mentions of IndiaNIC in their copy writing.
More than wondering, it amazes me for the thought behind cloning someone so closely rather than getting inspired and creating their own legacy?
They perhaps don’t know how much has gone into the making of what they really liked. They couldn’t even copy it “properly” lol.
I am pretty sure once they receive a call for violating the copy rights and IP infringement — they’ll leave some drops of tears and sweat. Not sure how long this utter “Floppy Bird” lives on the internet.
Why this bad is ugly?
Companies like this claim to deliver great work to their prospects and clients and keep their boat afloat in the IT Outsourcing sea, while they can’t even keep their own house in order and just be themselves.
To be original, one has to surgically craft the Beautiful and produce the work that leaves an impact.
But on the other side, I do see where they’re coming from. While the new breed of exciting young entrepreneurs is capable of excelling much faster than their experienced counter parts due to their capacity to grasp the NEW and adapt pretty quickly, many of them (to emphasize, not all of them) chase the quick success and expect it right away. There’s a lot of social prestige attached to the venture that makes them take the shortcuts, instead of hustling hard, thinking on innovation and serious focus on delivering values
As the great Steve Job quotes —
Good Designers Copy. Great Designers Steal.
And that’s what exactly the point is. Why be mediocre, when you can be great? With this guy — he could have still saved his reputation by simply purchasing something from Themeforest for less than $50 compared to the time he spend in ripping our work. That’s really dumb, not at all smart, and certainly not in the definition of “Steal” in the quote Jobs said.
Starting up a new venture and entrepreneurship is a dream. But this idiots (ouch! Sorry for my language, but I just can’t handle this) don’t know that success comes by being original and effective — by working at it and not just stealing someone’s work thinking its theirs. Just because it’s available on internet, it’s not a public property.
These are the kind of people who ruin the work of really skilled people — and abuse the talent that the real work can sustain. These are the type of companies who constantly add to the frustration of offshore development, shattering the image of a lot of great minds and companies working from India and fulfilling digital needs of enterprises and startups across the seas.
I can only imagine how much a feeling of “proud” their entire team would be having, after this shameless public theft.
Get inspired. Be original. Copy won’t last. At least for long.
If you have had a similar experience like ours, share your story in the comments below, it is certainly not offensive, but clearly entertaining as well.
BTW, did you know that one of the screenshots in the original version has my picture?
