Almanac is a social network for knowledge, purposely built for collaboration. Almanac curates best practices along with key resources from some of the most accomplished tech executives on the planet. By aggregating valuable information in one place Almanac not only helps to save time, but it also makes it easier to share that knowledge across an organization. Almanac serves as a hub for a fast-growing community of knowledge workers to find the information they need, document and share it across their org quickly while also saving it down for future use. As new content is loaded to the platform, a user can easily ‘copy and paste’ any resource into their own private hub.

Last week, Almanac announced that they had raised $9M in seed funding led by Floodgate’s Mike Maples alongside General Catalyst, Inspired, Abstract, Shrug, Worklife, Indicator, CoFound, Array, Liquid2, and current and former executives of some of the world’s most successful companies. Indicator had originally invested in Almanac in Q1 2019, when the company was still ‘pre-product.’ Almanac has come a long way since then, building an outstanding platform, growing their user base exponentially, and aggregating over 10k unique documents for their library in 2020 so far. The $9 million seed round will help the company build a new cloud operating system for the 21st century and design a utility tool for any company wishing to transition to a digital business. We are proud of what the Almanac team has accomplished in such little time and are excited for a future of meaningful creation fueled by the rapidly growing Almanac community.

Currently, Almanac is seeing a surge in usage driven by an increase in the number of employees who are now working remotely. As more individuals move to work from home remote collaboration and access to knowledge becomes increasingly critical. Therefore, businesses adapting to remote work, individuals looking for work, and communities sharing information can all benefit from the broad yet highly relevant resources found on Almanac. This is evidenced by the timely release of the ‘COVID-19 Operators Playbook’ which includes checklists, scripts, email templates, scenario plans, and more to assist operators in this difficult time. Some of the helpful articles include guidelines on how to communicate with employees and customers, how to make the transition to remote work, and how to adjust business travel, among other things.

We are thrilled to support Almanac on their mission to empower knowledge workers through greater access to open-source resources and collaboration.
