Introducing Indicator Ventures’ Summer 2020 MBA Associate
We are excited to introduce our newest summer associate — Kam Phillips-Sadler — who will be working with the Indicator team this summer.
The daughter of a bullrider and biotech start-up bookkeeper, Kam grew up on a fully functioning ranch outside of Fort Worth, Texas. After graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri, Kam spun up her own consulting service, where she advised start-up and growth stage companies and organizations on strategic planning, fundraising and marketing. In correlation with this venture, Kam was also working full time on her company, Dream Outside the Box, which she founded while she was still in school. Dream Outside the Box is an app-driven social franchise model connecting the college workforce with PK-5th grade students for career focused experiences. Over the last decade, DOTB has scaled to 16 chapters nationwide, launched a subscription box service (Dream Delivered), been featured on 50 million Lay’s chip bags and recognized as Champions of Change by President Obama.
Kam most recently worked as a Venture Associate at The Fund, New York City’s most active seed stage venture fund, and is currently pursuing her MBA at Harvard Business School, where she serves on the Board of Women in Investing and Co-Chair of the Black New Venture Competition (BNVC).
This summer, Kam will assist Indicator in a variety of different areas including diligence on new investments, portfolio management, content and marketing, community management, and data analysis. Beyond these core categories, Kam will also have the opportunity to work on a summer-long project, the subject for which will be chosen by Kam and the Partnership when the program begins. Kam will experience everything we do on a day-to-day basis, and we are hopeful that she will learn a great deal from our firm this summer (and that we will learn from her as well!).
We could not be more thrilled to have Kam on board and are very much looking forward to working with her this summer.
