Setting out to positively inspire and innovate is no easy task in modern day Hip Hop/Rap music where repetitive lyrics and glorified ignorance have taken the center stage. This is exactly what Stratford, CT based group, Left Field Rhythms (LFR) sought to do upon formation and subsequent release of their 2007 debut “ Left Field Rhythms Presents: LFR”. The 2015 release of their promotional LP “SEEDS” saw the four man group dropping a well rounded project defying corporate themes, writing both fun and relatable folklore for the everyday man.

Avid listeners of ATCQ and J Dilla will be familiar with a number of reworked beats on the 14 track release, alongside the in house production of DJ D-Dubs and Merk Werkz. The songs are often bridged by mystical interludes with a character (identified as “The Light Worker”) providing thought provoking messages over hypnotic and binaural instrumentation. The positive vibes and melodic audio draw stylistic influence from soulful boom-bap to Latin Jazz music. Each emcee provides a unique perspective with diverse lyrics while tapping into the listeners’ frequency track by track.

The music video is out now with the song (Produced by J Dilla & Young RJ) guest featuring; Big Leaf, Red Pearl and Bear a Dawn. The full project is available for streaming and digital download with their sophomore album “ORGANIC” slated for release in spring of this year:
