How to Submit
If you are a Medium user: Go to your draft story, then click the 3 dot menu (…) and choose Add to publication, then choose IndieYeah.
Story Guidelines
Before we get on this journey together, here are some general guidelines for writing your stories:
- We prefer unpublished stories so that we can dictate the publishing schedule to give the story more exposure. We will accept previously published pieces only a case-by-case basis, especially if it is a trending related topic that fits our mission.
- If your story is new to Medium but was published on an external site such as your own blog, we will still accept it as a new story for IndieYeah.
- Stories once accepted and published for IndieYeah may not be removed and/or added to any other publication on Medium. We will cease to accept articles from people who habitually remove stories from our publication.
- All submitted stories must include a header image right above or right below the title, so that your story will look good on medium search results, on shares, etc. This images included in your story must be your own, or a reusable stock photo (a good source for free images is unsplash.com, and always give credit by citing the source). We reserve the right to remove questionable images from submissions. If no image is present, we will add one of our choosing.
- All accepted stories will be published as per our scheduling plan.
- You are allowed to add 5 tags to your story, one of which should be “IndieYeah”.
- Lastly, we do not wish to limit your creative writing process in any way and we will surely consider all forms for writing (fiction, non-fiction, etc.) but please always keep the reader in mind by keeping it concise (4–6 mins. for optimal views), to the point and by chunking your story for easy readability.
IndieYeah aims to appeal to a global audience with real stories and issues pertaining to the Indian culture and way of life. We are excited to have to join this journey with us.
