An IndyHackers/SecondHelpings story
IndyHackers is a group of tech builders that want to bring the Indy tech community closer together. We are stronger together and all that right?! We will post more about us, but the point of this is to share something that we thought was incredibly cool that was a result of this amazing community.
We want our events to be about community… helping others that are new to the community… connecting those that have been in the community, but have never had the chance to meet… and most recently giving back to the community at large.
This time when we gathered and gave, the note of thanks hit us right in the heart, and we wanted to share…
Dear Indy Hackers,
Thank you for your generous donations to Second Helpings at your annual Indy Hackers’ event. For those of you who gave anonymously, we may not know your names but we still want to say, “Thank you” and to let you know how your donations transform lives every day.
Because of you, more of the most vulnerable people in our community — children, seniors and homeless men and women — receive hot, nutritious meals so they can thrive. Because of you, more unemployed and underemployed men and women learn culinary arts and important life skills, then move forward to start meaningful careers and build better lives for themselves and their families. You make these incredible things possible and we are so grateful.
Your gift provides nutrition for growing bodies and minds, nutritional support to keep seniors healthier, and opportunities for transformation, redemption and renewal for those in the Culinary Job Training program. All these good things happen because of you! Thank you for being so very kind and generous.

We share this, because this thanks belongs to the entire community that supports IndyHackers. Without the event sponsors there would be no event attendees, and without that this impact would not have been made.
So, on behalf of the IndyHackers board, we just wanted to stop and say to the IndyHackers sponsors and community as a whole.
We felt all of the good feels when receiving this note, and it just gives us that much more energy to keep bringing this amazing community together… next time even bigger and better than all of the times before.
