Seven Stories — No Rights Reserved
Plus a how to guide, in case you’d like to do the same
Here they are, folks; the original seven—

I put them all together into a list, seven stories I figured should be made entirely free-use.
How did I choose this set?
They tell what I believe to be unique stories — please correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve missed out on so many classics, I honestly wouldn’t know — and I’d love to give them a chance to shine beyond my meagerly written presentation. Without restrictions or worries to hinder them.
Maybe nothing will come of it.
Perhaps they won’t even be seen until I’ve died.
No one knows!
Wondering how you can change your copyright settings?
It’s simple.
Notes: 1. The following process only applies to the desktop site. This setting is NOT available on mobile to my knowledge.2. Click on the images to enlarge.
You do it on a per story basis.
- First, go into the settings for the story in question by clicking on the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of your story, and selecting ‘More settings’:
2. Now scroll down until you see ‘Content Licensing’, and click on ‘Edit licensing’:
Note: By default, it’ll be set to ‘All Rights Reserved’.
3. You can now explore your options, which to me came in an overwhelming variety—
4. Choose your preferred setting — consider doing the research if you don’t understand what any of these mean — and click ‘Save’!
That’s quite all there is to it.
Note: This process is the same with stories before and after publishing. Whether it's wise to switch the settings back and forth over long periods of time, I don't know.
Want to share your own ‘No rights reserved’ stories?
Link them in the response section of this piece and I’ll review them before deciding whether to add them to the list!
Why?
Most probably, because you want to offer something fresh for other creators to work with— and I’ve already got a list going.
I’d personally love to see artworks, music, films, extended writings, and much more based on my works!
Maybe I’ll have to wait for the afterlife.
We’ll see!!
I await your materials.
Or start your own list; I’m unbothered.
Questions?
Ask away and I’ll do my best to answer. If we’re lucky, maybe someone with a solid grasp of copyright law will show up and make everything easier for everyone!
Imagine that for a moment.
We’ll be fine; Google has most of the answers, if you know how to look for them through the ads and purely SEO based results!
Seriously though.
Alright, I’ve relinquished the rights to this story as well, so I guess that makes eight on the list.
Though it’s kind of strange.
I’m not ultimately sure what it means.
What would someone even do with this? Republish it on their own Medium page?
Go ahead!!
You legally don’t even have to attribute me.
Cheers!
