Ancient meditation (Dhyana) is mainly practiced for spirituality. Mental peace, good physical health, relaxation, a better mind, balanced emotionality, etc. are the by-products of Dhyana. Irrespective of the techniques of Dhyana, its goal is liberation through all religious paths.

Dhyana is an ancient meditation practice based on a complex energy system of seven chakras(wheels) and three nadis in the body. This ancient chakra-based meditation practice originated in India.

The seven chakras are energy wheels in the body. Their corresponding places and functions are very specific in the body. The chakras are energy points of the body. These energy wheels spin at their specific energy point.

According to ancient Vedas, most physical and mental diseases can be avoided by keeping the chakras open and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of the energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being.

So, by working on different required chakras, one can get better physical & mental health. The seven chakras run along with the spine from the sacrum to the crown of the head.

1) The Root Chakra (Muladhara Chakra):

Muladhara is a Sanskrit word for Root. As its name describes, it is located at the base of the spine.

If this chakra is blocked or not aligned then one can have physical problems like arthritis, constipation, and bladder or colon problems.

Emotionally this chakra is connected with feelings like insecurity, ambition & stability. As it is the base of energy, disturbance in this chakra can lead to feelings of deep fear, and insecurity which will not allow you to be successful and can cause frustration.

Any person with this chakra open or balanced will feel grounded and secure, both physically and emotionally.

2) The Sacral Chakra (Svadhishthana Chakra):

This chakra is located just below the bellybutton means just above the pubic bone.

Imbalance of this chakra results in physical problems associated with organs like urinary tract infections, lower back pain, and impotency.

Emotionally this chakra is connected with feelings of self-esteem, mainly in pleasure, sexuality, and creativity.

A person with this chakra opened and balanced will be a very creative person.

3) The Solar Plexus Chakra (Nabhi/Manipura Chakra):

This chakra is located between the ribcage and the navel.

Physically this chakra is associated with problems related to digestion, liver, or diabetes. The imbalance of this chakra will lead to physical problems like ulcers, heartburn, indigestion, and eating disorders.

Emotionally this chakra is associated with feelings like ego, anger, and aggression.

This is the chakra of personal power. If this chakra is opened and balanced then that person would be energetic, productive, and confident.

4) The Heart Chakra (Anahata Chakra):

This chakra is located at the center of the chest.

Physically this chakra is associated with problems related to the heart and cardiovascular system. The imbalance of this chakra leads to problems like blood pressure, asthma, and heart palpitations.

Emotionally this chakra relates to compassion, trust, passion, and love for everyone. The imbalance of this chakra will create negative feelings like anger, anxiety, loneliness, and jealousy.

5) The Throat Chakra (Vishuddhi Chakra):

This chakra is located in the throat.

Physically this chakra is connected with problems related to the throat, teeth, gums, and mouth.

This chakra is connected with self-expression means the ability to communicate with others to convey our point. If this chakra is imbalanced or blocked then that person will be dominating in conversations, gossiping, and speaking without thinking.

A person with this chakra balanced will speak with confidence and compassion.

6) The Third eye Chakra (Ajna Chakra):

This chakra is located between the eyebrows. Many meditation techniques are recommending to meditate till this chakra. This chakra is also known as a focal point. In Hindu Sanskriti, a well-known tradition of doing tilak/bindi at this focal point is to activate this chakra.

This chakra is associated with your intellect, intuition, wisdom, and spiritual power.

People with this blocked chakra can have problems with the head, eyes, and ears like headaches, migraine, sight, concentration, and hearing problems.

A person with opened and balanced Ajna chakra will have a very good intuition power.

7) The Crown Chakra (Sahastrara Chakra):

This chakra is located at the top of the head. “Sahastrara” is a Sanskrit word that means “Thousand” so, this chakra is also known as the “Thousand petals lotus” chakra.

This chakra is the place of enlightenment. A highly spiritual person can have the most divine experiences at this chakra.

As it is the highest level of energy chakra many of us have blocked crown chakra and that’s why we are feeling depression, frustration, anxiety, and hatred for the outside world in our lives.

Correct practice of Dhyana (ancient meditation) can activate all these chakras. When a person has activated all chakras means that person is physically, mentally, and emotionally stable person.

It means a stage of liberation(moksha) can only achieve if you are physically, mentally, and emotionally balanced. It is the ultimate spiritual stage in everyone’s life when the materialistic world can not affect your emotions and stability.

Conclusion:

Daily practice of meditation and conscious thinking can induce changes in our behavior. Constant implementation of this good behavior will lead us to better mental health and later on to a peaceful and stress-free life.

By proper guided meditation each person can work on their own chakras to balance them except for the Crown chakra. It is a fact that a highly spiritual guru is needed to open the Crown chakra.

Try to do meditation daily and through that keep your all chakras balanced and be healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally.
