Feminism Prevails
Feminism is feared by many men and even women as they question their perspective on the term itself. It is often thought to be this concept where narrow minded women have developed an to be equal to a man, and have the same rights as well due to hatred. But what is there to fear when women deserve equal pay for equal work, just as men who are single fathers deserve the same respect single mothers get. They should not praised more for being one of the few single fathers when there are many single mothers who struggle every day to make ends meet. In the article by Luisa Muraro, “The Passion of Feminine Difference Beyond Equality” she elaborates the concept of equality construed of more than the obvious of being the same, but there are differences that cannot be ignored due to the fact that these differences should be acknowledged to their full extent. Feminism is defined as the grounds of women’s rights that include the political, economic, and social equality to men which challenges the modern Western world, where white men have the superiority to women and use them as surplus.
Women receive less pay than men although they work the same number of hours, they work the same job position, and even if they same level of education males still make more than women on average. Mila D. Aguilar, explains her position towards the bourgeoisie when placed in a position where resources are not available or when the only resources you have. In “To a Social Democrat,” there is a point where a mother and father are forced to give up their resources in order to pay for an operation that took all they had. They were not fortunate enough to keep their belongings, but they had no other options. As a female patient, she felt ashamed to return to the doctor without completing the proper amount that needed to be paid. Not enough funds to pay for a necessary procedure, but their only form of materialism was removed from them to pay for treatment, but they are left without anything to maintain for themselves.
To reduce this feminism, there must be an understanding in a more analytical context, to understand it’s properties as a theory along with comprehending its purpose and meaning. In bell hooks’ Feminism is for Everybody is the introduction of how people only understand feminism third hand, from other sources but never experienced it firsthand. Feminism is not a group of women who are vengeful towards men and their advantage in society, and this is not considered to be an “authentic” feminist. Feminists are not anti-male and that is never the objective, however, the objective is to eliminate women oppression along with the exploitations of sex.
When there is an issue with stereotyping towards women, when women are assumed to cook and clean for a living it is feminism to feel strongly unpleased with this statement. When women are not respected in a work place due to the intimidation of men superiority as they receive that promotion that a woman does not acquire the criteria for is a form of discrimination which is something feminism wants to eliminate, the pressure of not being certain due to sexism.
Today we are facing new circumstances in which women along with men, excluding white men, are struggling to obtain goals that are not accessible to everyone equally. bell hooks elaborate that feminism is for everyone including the children by eliminating this gender stereotype of women and men being entitled to certain amount of power. This reveals an opportunity to create a setting of equality and what is fair as feminism is deconstructed.
