My self-writing strategy
My strategy to writing begins fixing an objective (define propose or understanding the task). and creating a list or mental map to check my previous ideas. then I read and watch some information of several sources to then make the first draft, and start selecting some parts to enhance and focus my writing including more information and citations. Finally, I review format and grammar, sometimes with help from experts and non-experts friends.
I think this strategy is effective to create engaging text and vary depending on time and kind of text (research, public communication, opinion, policy brief). I think if I try to create more free-writing text I can start to build an author persona in my text, that could contribute to writing more authentically. I feel the proposal strategies are not the same for each field because the tradition of it field and audience change a lot between each discipline.
