1. Curse Tastefully
I’m a sailor-mouthed sassy talker. When I write my first thought is to write how I talk, and sometimes that equates to pure filth. I love a good expletive as much as the next guy, but I curb my foul mouth for the pearl-clutching masses and ask you to do the same. One full “fuck” an article at maximum, and a nice little asterisk for any curse word that’s stronger than a donkey(ass) afterward. Ex.: Sh*t.
2. No politics
There are plenty of places to talk about politics, religion, etc. on Medium, but this publication about pop culture is not one of them. Chat about politics if it pertains to the article, but personal opinions are a no-no for hot-button issues.
3. Write about things that you like and only sometimes about things that you despise
Most of your topics here should be positive, things you love, like, and enjoy about pop culture. Sometimes it makes sense to write an article about something that let you down, like The Giver movie or how Game of Thrones…
