Back from Tokyo: Infinito Spoke on Cryptocurrency Wallets at BBC Meetup #14
Infinito Wallet was thrilled to join the talk about Cryptocurrency Wallets at The 14th BBC Meet-up in Japan. The event brought together various blockchain experts from Infinito, Blockchain Business Community (BBC), Japan Cryptocurrency Practitioners Association (JCPA), BCoin, and industry regulation researchers. This time, experts examined the different types and various functions of crypto wallets, the relationship between wallets and Exchanges, as well as the future of crypto wallets.
Given the hacking incidents on numerous global Exchanges earlier this year, the industry has started to pay more attention to security features of crypto wallets. On 26 January, the Japanese exchange Coincheck reported that “NEM cryptocurrencies equivalent to 58 billion yen was lost due to a hack”. In late June, a major Korean cryptocurrency exchange called Bithumb suffered hacking damages equivalent to 3.3 billion yen. And on 20th September, Zaif announced a leak of “virtual currencies of 6.7 billion yen in value”. Because of this, investors are increasingly opting for crypto wallets as their primary storage solution rather than keeping them on exchanges to avoid potential losses.
