INF Is Moving Into E-Sports!

Long gone are the days when E-sports were considered a joke. Long gone are the days when gamers played for bragging rights around the block and the prize pool was just enough to buy a Coke or a coffee.

In 2018 the number of frequent E-sports viewers amounted to 173 million and this is projected to rise to 201 million in 2019 according to statista.com. According to the same source, the global E-sports market revenue went from $130 million in 2012 to $865 million in 2018 and will surpass $1 billion in 2019.

Technology consulting firm Activate suggests that by 2021, E-sports will be watched by 70 million people in the U.S., which is higher than the viewership for baseball (MLB — 69 million viewers), basketball (NBA — 63 million viewers) and hockey (NHL — 32 million viewers), surpassed only by American football (NFL — 141 million viewers).

Building The INF Live Stream App

At INF, we advocate innovation, problem solving, and we maintain a strong sense of giving back to the community, reasons for which we’ve decided to take advantage of the technology at our disposal and build an INF Live Streaming App for Esports. This will allow viewers to support their favourite team by rewarding them with digital gifts and to help gamers monetize their skills, rewarding the time and effort that they have put in. The App is community driven and is moving towards becoming the next generation app that gamers utilize for live-streaming of E-sports. The INF app is available for mobile download before the SEA Clash Of Champions (COC) event that will take place 18th — 19th May 2019.

New Addition To The INF Family — “hyhy”

Part of our journey into E-sports, we welcome a new member in our team: the E-sports legend hyhy — Lim Han Yong as our Infinitus E-sports Strategy Director. Hard-core gamers are probably familiar with his achievements but of course, not everybody’s a gamer so here’s a brief “history”:

Benedict Lim Han Yong aka “hyhy” is a former DotA (Defense of the Ancients) pro player with numerous awards and podium finishes in various Online and LAN tournaments. At the end of 2007 he joined team Zenith, winning the ESWC in 2008 with a strong performance.

Due to lack of activity from his Zenith teammates, hyhy joined team Kingsurf in September 2008 and in 2009 they won the ADX III (under the new name Aeon). Better sponsorship led the team to switch to Scythe.SG.

Scythe Gaming was invited to DotA 2 The International and hyhy put together a Singaporean team on short notice, leaving them only a few days to practice. Despite this, Scythe put on a strong performance and came in third with a prize money of USD 150,000.

At the end of 2012, hyhy transitioned to League of Legends and joined the Singapore Sentinels. He later joined White Fries Gaming before coming on board Infinitus.

Southeast Asia Clash Of Champions 2019

Hyhy’s experience and role as our new E-sports Strategy Director will be of great help considering our involvement in the Clash Of Champions tournament that will take place 18th — 19th May 2019 at Suntec City Convention Hall 404–406. We are happy to announce that Infinitus will be the Prize Sponsor and the Official Event App Partner.

Organized by Reddentes Sports and part of the SG:Digital Wonderland 2019, the inaugural Clash of Champions tournament will witness six of the region’s best ML:BB (Mobile Legends Bang Bang) crews, from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and the Philippines. Doors open at 11am and participant will just have to flash their INF app for free entry. Infinitus as the Official Event App will stream the competition ‘Live’ while Official Broadcasters Toggle by MediaCorp will telecast it after. Fans will also get the opportunity to meet with the various competing teams at the weekend. In conjunction with the event there will be panels which will include topics such as Using Sports Science to Improve Esports Performance, Career Opportunities in Esports and Youth in Esports where will feature HYHY.

These are very bold moves for the company who are hoping to make their presence felt in the E-sports industry which has seen an unprecedented growth in Asia over the past few years. As part of Infinitus’ efforts to promote E-sports as a professional athletic sport, all those who download the app will receive 5 INF tokens for free with the redemption code “COCINF” which can then be used as digital gifts to support their favorite gamers. We also have a “Support your Favourite Team Lucky Draw” for the COC event. A total of 3000 MLBB Diamonds will be given out to 18 lucky supporters!

1 Lucky Supporter from each team will be selected to win COC Supporter Prizes with 500 MLBB Diamonds and 1 signed Team Jersey

All you need to do is use a minimum of 1 INF Credit to support your favorite team! Every 1 INF credit gives you 1 chance to win the lucky draw.

The addition of live streaming through the Infinitus App is meant to create a user-centric experience and to bring gamers together by offering an accessible way to watch and interact.

Clash of Champion (COC) will be the first step taken towards bringing the players and community together. The addition of live streaming through the Infinitus App is meant to create a user-centric experience and to bring gamers together by offering an accessible way to watch and interact.
