entrepreneurship, learning, and motherhood

We are the “MIT Sisters” — Sally Coldrick from Australia and Rachel Hentsch from Italy. We met at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in South Korea in March 2016. We thank MIT for the deep friendship we have formed. And we hold MIT responsible for the magnetic forces drawing us to want more involvement with them! To us, MIT also stands for “Motherhood Innovation Team” as this captures the core of our synergistic teamwork and collaboration.

Our aim at MITSisters is to share the precious learnings acquired at MIT and the teachings of the Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework to individuals around the world through our ‪#‎MITBootcampFrontiers‬ articles, featuring the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Real stories from entrepreneurs from around the world that will help you learn from the successes and invaluable failures of others.

After participating in the MIT Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in South Korea earlier this year, we wanted MORE! We have both been accepted into MIT’s very selective Disciplined Entrepreneurship Bootcamp Teacher Training in Cambridge, Massachusetts starting 7th August 2016 — yes, you read that right, next week!

NO, we have NOT got it all sorted out… yet.

Last minute craziness has led us to create an MIT Sisters indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. Efforts to get sponsorship were many and varied, they led to some fascinating conversations and many new connections. This effort has further concreted our bond as MIT Sisters .

OUR ASK OF YOU…

We are aiming to raise a total of $7,000 USD to cover our travel, accommodation and “brain fuel” expenses for the 2 weeks we will be in Boston. Full breakdown provided within the campaign. We have managed to cover tuition but have begged and borrowed for the remainder — and we will need to recover it pronto to repay our kind lenders. But we will need to pay back (before Mid-September) all the money that we have borrowed to make it over to the USA.

In return for your generosity and faith in us, we have created unique and exclusive range of “perks”, all designed to share with our MIT experience and learnings with you. There IS something in this for EACH of you, even if it is just keeping you entertained for the next few weeks!

Ours is a case of having jumped off the cliff, and of building our wings on the way down: we are currently flying high on short term, high-interest credit to make it to the MIT Bootcamp.

So we REALLY need your help, please!

Anything raised above and beyond will be used to help the MIT Sisters grow their entrepreneurial story-telling reach and impact more people’s lives.

Entrepreneurship can in fact be taught, and by the end of August we will be equipped with the necessary tools (and MIT-accredited) to help spread this knowledge and contribute to a more healthy entrepreneurial system.

We know that some people just can’t contribute, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t in an amazing position to share this with someone who can — we’d be grateful for you sharing the link with others who may benefit from learning about the Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework.

Please donate and share! Hustle over, for now! Thank you.
