The Chief Cook, or “Chief Chef” as she jokingly likes to be called, is committed to the idea that she would never serve a meal to any person that she would not eat herself. While the members of the Prime Council may receive the occasional perk, no one on the Arvad would complain about the quality of their food. She takes special care in what she chooses to prepare for the Prime Council and prides herself on how she knows the dietary preferences of each Councilor better than they do.
Within the climate-controlled ship, far from any wilderness or weather, there is very little to remind the crew of the Arvad of their fundamental humanity. Food, the Chief Cook feels, is the best way to reawaken that dull ember into a spark. Her connection to the humanity of the past is always most evident whenever she makes her family recipe for guacamole. The aroma of the freshly minced cilantro insists on reminding her that it was one of the very first plants grown in space for humans to consume and enjoy.
When off duty and away from the kitchens, she can often be found on the ag decks, where she has turned the few fallow scraps of soil to be found into a series of scattered gardens. She gets off-the-record approval for this since the bounty of this harvest tends to end up on the tables of her fellow Councilors.
