3 Benefits of Spending Time in Nature to Help You Blog Better

There is something to be said for getting outdoors every day when you work online. From the fresh air and nature, with sunshine streaming on you, to the smells and sights around you.

The fall season is breathtakingly colorful to see in New England. The different colors of the leaves of the trees can inspire you.

On sunny days the reds and oranges are bright and on cloudy days the yellows are muted and emerge from the evergreens. And the reflection in the lakes is an awe-dropping delight as you can see below.

So how does nature benefit you as a blogger?

1. Nature Has the Ability to Evoke Creativity

According to a scientific study, nature can evoke a creative way of thinking by making us more curious, able to get new ideas as well as flexible in our way of thinking.

So while you are out walking or enjoying nature on a boat, bike, etc. your mind can wander freely. This gives you fresh ideas for your blog.

Have you ever come up with great ideas while outdoors? It is where you need to be alone and in a quiet place outdoors. Whether you are hiking or fishing or maybe even on a snowmobile you can observe nature closely.

You can observe with your eyes and ears everything around you. Ideas begin to flow to you seamlessly.

2. Nature Helps You Stay Healthy to Blog More

Next, being outdoors gives you a break from being on your computer. Many bloggers suffer from ailments from working too long at their desks, myself included over the years.

By taking a break, you are giving your mind and body a break from the computer.

If you exercise on your break that’s even better for your health. I was having issues for a while working on a desk for hours on end. A sore back and sciatic issues can drain your creative juices.

But since I take regular walking breaks and snowshoe breaks in the winter I have felt much better. I highly recommend you try that!

Being healthy will help you to blog more consistently too. Without being consistent your blog will not have a chance to grow.

3. Nature Breaks Make You More Productive on Your Blog

After taking an hour or so break from the computer you will feel more energized and ready to dive back into your work.

However, one note: If you take a break for over an hour, it may be harder to dive right back in. Of course, that is okay once in a while to take that much-needed long break. (or for a semi-vacation!)

Of course, you can snap photos along with your nature outings to share on your blog posts. People love seeing real photographs on blog posts. They beat stock images every time.

My friend Ryan shares nature photos often in his blog posts and on social media. It’s a great way for people to connect with him.

Summing it Up

So, start taking nature breaks which are good for anyone who sits at a desk for most of the day, and see how your blog will benefit.
