Dear SENCommunity,

We invite you to join us to help people in Myanmar who have been severely impacted by the torrential floods.

Donation address: 0xB651C10CFd17b269f22B0855f969B9EAb7202681

As we have shared with you previously, Myanmar is experiencing intense floods that have already displaced 150,000 people. Myanmar is no stranger to floods as it experiences heavy monsoon rains every year. However this year the rain is particularly heavy. Quoting Myint Myint Than, one of the hundreds taking refuge in a shelter in Bago, “There are normally floods, but not like this year. This year is the worst ever.”. The floods have drowned large areas of farmland and completely submerged houses. It has caused the loss of property, threatened lives and uprooted entire communities. With 32.1% of the population living below the poverty line, the floods only worsen the plight of the Myanmarese.

Getting a first-hand experience of this crisis through our operations team in Myanmar, the Sentinel Chain team has decided to personally respond to this emergency. We will be making 30 ETH donations to an NGO in Myanmar to provide aid to flood victims. Further details will be announced regarding which NGO will be receiving the donation once the logistics are confirmed over the next few days.

In the spirit of inclusiveness, we are coordinating a small donation drive to extend the opportunity for the community to donate your SENC to support this initiative. As Sentinel Chain is still under construction and to prevent SENC donations from impacting market price, SENC received will be converted to ETH via an internal token swap, based on CoinGecko’s 8th August 2018 EOD rate, ie. 1 SENC to 0.00004018 ETH. A donation hard cap of 30 ETH, equivalent to 746,640 SENC, will be applied and managed via a smart contract. The SENC donation drive will end either on the 15th of August or when the hard cap of 746,640 SENC is reached, whichever earlier.

Sentinel Chain project has always been about improving the lives of those who need it most. We believe that in keeping with our values, we cannot remain bystanders and that this initiative is part of our company’s greater mission, and our vision of improving lives. We hope that we can band together and make a profound impact for the people of Myanmar.

Giving period: 10am, Monday, 13 August 2018–6pm, Wednesday, 15 August 2018 (Singapore time)

Channel: The SENC donation contract address for the donations will be shared only in our official Telegram group on 10am, 13 August 2018 (Singapore time). No other channels of communication will be used to broadcast the designated address.

Yours sincerely,
Roy Lai
