Roy Lai of InfoCorp Bags Two EYA Awards
23 November 2018; 10am Singapore: Roy Lai Kian Ming, founder and CEO of InfoCorp Technologies, bagged two awards last night at the “The Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2018” gala dinner. They are the 2018 “New Entrepreneur of the Year” and “Social Contribution” awarded by Singapore’s prestigious and longest standing award event proudly co-organised by Association of Small & Medium Enterprises of Singapore and Rotary Club of Singapore. Held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore Entrepreneur of the Year’s (EYA) 2018, the award presentation ceremony was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Singapore’s Minister for Trade & Industry. The black tie event saw a turnout of 600 business leaders and guests across industries.
EYA’s ‘New Entrepreneur category aims to recognize the fledgling Entrepreneur who demonstrates keen business acumen, innovation and creativity in differentiating their businesses from the market’.
The “EYA FOR SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION is awarded to the Entrepreneur who has demonstrated efforts to contribute to society, is involved in environmental policies and have encouraged employee involvement in community activities.”

Roy Lai was awarded for the intention to provide blockchain-based financial solutions for agricultural countries with a high livestock population. The solution has a focus on helping small-farm holders to turn ‘dead capital’ of livestock into a new asset class. It is intended as enabler to lift themselves out of poverty. His innovative approach of utilising blockchain to prove ownership of livestock and allowing it to be used as collateral, reduces the lending risk for micro financing institutions.
For InfoCorp, this award validates not only quality leadership; awarding Roy is also a reflection of the quality of Sentinel Chain as a blockchain project solving real world problems, and creating win-win solutions with new business opportunities. InfoCorp also hopes the awards will encourage other technology visionaries to stay true to their mission to use blockchain to realise their vision to drive change in the world, which in a space that is often regarded with less trust, is not always easy.
