The Golden Digger

Recommended statue

A memory of my childhood visiting family in Oklahoma, the Golden Driller looms over Tulsa… the “oil capital of the world” in the early 1900s.

The inscription reads: “Dedicated to the men of the petroleum industry who by their vision and daring have created from God’s abundance a better life for mankind.”

Just standing around in Tulsa, Oklahoma

As a teenager, it made for fine bow & arrow practice for my father. And now for my mother, it holds guise under the new name “Golden Digger.”

What new abundance might there be?

(Fun Fact: It’s the fifth-tallest free-standing structure in the U.S. today.)
