Here at Redgate our software engineers are the beating heart of our Product Development teams. Come rain or shine our development teams are here, building the products our customers love. Its why we started our Ingeniously Simple Medium page to share the great work we’re doing, the things we are learning and the techniques we think could work for others.
But how do you become a Software Engineer or a Designer?
Introducing… (huge drumroll and anticipation…)
NEW JOINER JUNE!!!!! (At least five minutes was spent considering the name of this)
All next week we’ll be sharing top tips, ideas, advice and support on how to get into software development & design. We can’t promise its easy, but we believe its probably the best job in the world (Not that we are biased in any way at all…)
Throughout the week we’ll be sharing blogs on the things to consider, the sort of things Redgate looks for when hiring for these roles and the typical work and job you will be doing in your first few months of successfully gaining a role. And if reading isn’t your bag, or you’re more drawn to the silky voices of our Podcast gang, then we’ll also be releasing a bunch of helpful info in our next Podcast, which will be covering the same subject which we’ll make available during the week.
And this isn’t all. Over the coming weeks we’re going to be sharing more about the sorts of things we look for when recruiting for roles here at Redgate, the types of things we typically ask for, the process you’ll go through and the support you can expect along the way. We want to do this because applying for a role is hard enough, without having to worry about whether the potential employer is going to ask you for ten years’ experience of C# for a junior engineer role and bamboozle you with questions like ‘how many lamp posts are there in the entire country?’ See this as a helpful bit of advice from us to set you on the right path 😊
Don’t forget, if you have a question you can always contact us on our social media channels. Check out our Twitter page here where you’ll see the day to day things we are sharing and caring about. Or on Ingeniously Simple which is where you are right now to see more detail of the things we are working on, learning about and experimenting with. For a flavour of what its like to work here, you can check us out on Instagram or see videos from some of our bigger events on our YouTube channel. We really are social media mad here!
