Here at Redgate we are proud of the wide variety of backgrounds of the people who work in our product development teams. We have people who have come into engineering or design roles straight from university, from other roles, from entirely different careers, countries or long arduous routes that eventually led them to contributing to the great work we do here.
But we know that trying to find a path into engineering and design can be tough.
Demanding requirements, tough job specifications and requests for experience that seem impossible to satisfy all seem to act as a barrier to people forging a career in development and design.
So this week Redgate’s Product Development teams want to help.
All this week we’ll be featuring stories, blogs, features and advice across all of our platforms. Some of it is case studies of how our own Redgaters have found themselves doing the role they do, others are posts on the types of experience and qualifications that employers typically look for and mixed in with it all will be lashings of #toptips and advice to help you get the career you want.
We don’t pretend for a minute to have all of the answers and each individual will have their own specific wants and needs but we’re offering this because we believe that everyone should be allowed to aspire to a career they enjoy. We’re mighty proud of what we do here at Redgate but we know there is plenty more we can do to help.
All of this help will be offered free of charge or favour. We’re not doing this because we necessarily want you to apply to join Redgate (Unless of course you like what you see here). Instead, we’re doing this because the more great people in design and engineering, the better!
