There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests gets together to work towards the same goals. Ingressive community-UoN is a community made up of student developers from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. This kind of immense power is what was experienced on the 3rd of October at the University of Nairobi Sci lab.

Ingressive community -UoN

Learning, networking and fun all in one package was what was delivered. What was the occasion? You may ask. It was GitHub workshop sponsored by Ingressive Africa. Our goal was to equip all of us with basics of git.

Lewis Munyi introducing teaching

The workshop started at 2:00 pm and ended at 4:00 pm. Lewis Munyi was the facilitator. He started by introducing GitHub and explaining its purpose to the attendees. We then got to the most interesting hands on part of the event. We practiced what we learnt by collaborating on a small project.

Fork, clone, add, commit and push. All that and more was done. Rosianah Musyoka was the assistant facilitator where she was helping anyone stuck in the audience.

Networking has been cited as the number one unwritten rule of success in career growth. Who you know really impacts what you know. After lots of learning, it was time to network. The attendees were more than glad to network and get to know each other a little bit more.

Networking

The number one way to get into a person’s heart is food. And of course, Ingressive Africa never disappoints. We had lots of snacks which were taken during networking period.

The snacks brought more happiness

Thank you to Ingressive Africa for making this happen and of course a big shout out to the UoN Ingressive Community.

A crazy one
