If you do good work for good clients, it will lead to other good work for other good clients. If you do bad work for bad clients, it will lead to other bad work for other bad clients. And it all starts from design. This is what Ingressive UoN(University of Nairobi) was all about on the 11th August, 2018 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Design and prototyping.

Elvis Agin, the facilitator took the rest of us through a session of design and prototyping using Figma. We first created Figma accounts or downloaded Figma desktop apps. We went through design for mobile phones.

Before we began, we had to think about what we were going to design and the content as well. We then embarked on the design process which was very interesting.

Every one did a personal design. Here’s what I did. (https://www.figma.com/file/gu9AwtzaxATdXFF8O45soFuE/first_app)

We designed and we fought. The fight against the ugliness. Just like a doctor fights against disease. For us, the visual disease is what was around, and what we tried to do is cure it somehow with design.

We knew we had achieved perfection not when there was nothing left to add, but when there was nothing left to take away. Great design is born of simplicity and clarity. We learnt how to strive for these two things in design using Figma.

We then proceeded to prototyping and through step by step guidance from the facilitator, everyone was able to prototype their design.

Thanks to Ingressive Africa for the swag, food and of course for making the whole day successful.
