What is post-human(s)?

Humanity has undergone a constant transformation throughout history. This transformation is a period of about 2 million years from Homo-habilis to homo-saphiens. Throughout history, people have developed in line with human ideas such as science, culture and art. But today’s pace of change is faster than ever before. Humanity is taking shape in line with dramatic concepts such as mass controls, epidemics, disasters, aliens and terrorist organizations. The concept of post-human, on the other hand, is a philosophical term that exists against these dramatic concepts and beyond the person who develops by standing by. It is possible to divide the difference of the concept of post-human from normal human into two as mental and physical.

“Posthumanism has a much stronger critical edge attempting to develop through enactment new understandings of the self and others, essence, consciousness, intelligence, reason, agency, intimacy, life, embodiment, identity and the body.”

-Shannon Bell

It can be assumed that in addition to the fact that post-humanity humanity is one with the digital world, it can actually rise intellectually. One of the important building blocks is to be caught up in egalitarian, environmentalist, unifying, just, unity-oriented thoughts against “human” thoughts such as racism, fascism, discrimination, vengefulness, and segregation.

In recent times, humanity has moved on the way of increasing its own comfort without protecting animals, plants, water, mountains and forests by falling into selfish thoughts. The post-human can also cooperate with nature, aiming at the end of this selfishness.

“Humanism may be coming to an end as humanism transforms itself into something one must helplessly call posthumanism.

-Ihab Hassan

Feelings and human exist with each other. Today people react completely different to events because feelings direct them. However posthuman can prevent this feelings. It move with only logical way. Also posthuman can use robotic system and technological devolopments. Although treatment and therapy is provided for individuals as a result of this technology, people who do not need treatment may demand improvement. After a while, it is inevitable that we will deliver our brains to this robotic system. At this point, human relaitons turn into mathematical operations.

“There are no essential differences or absolute demarcations between bodily existence and computer simulation…”

-N. Katherine Hayles

Variations

Post-human Future

This concept is based on the fact that humanity can live with the concept of post-human in the future. This union is based on the bodily death of people, the existence of the mind in the digital environment, which has the potential to be protected forever. Many films and books have been written on this subject, and it is a concept that is not very foreign to us. Writers such as Isaac Asimov and HG Wells have based on this post-human concept.

Post-human God

This concept thinks that the concept of post-human and people are at the opposite point of each other. In other words, the post-human’s mentally thinking power, intelligence, ability, and speed of thinking are so much higher than that of a human that an irreversible gap has been formed.
