If Love baffles you – Read This.

I wish i could go back in time and have a conversation with my younger self about love.

I would tell her that before she sets out to find romantic love in this life, she should ensure that she has already secured a deep, meaningful, loving relationship with the One who deserves it first and foremost.

Her Creator.

I would remind her that this world and all relationships we form in this life are a test from Allah ( Swt). They are designed to hurt and cause pain.

But love for Allah will bless her with immense peace and tranquility which will forever protect her from the pain and disappointment caused by romantic love.

Love for Allah will equip her with the spiritual strength to face any challenges that romantic love might throw at her.

His love will anchor her so strongly, that no ups and downs will rock her boat.

I would also remind her thats before she sets out to find romantic love, she should fall in love with herself first. Not the kind of love that makes her arrogant or self-centred but the kind where she does not expect any other human being to come and complete her as she is already complete.

Whole and worthy, with or without someone.

Where she doesn’t not expect anyone to come and ‘save’ her as she herself is her saviour.

To all those who still are still baffled by the concept of ‘Love’ ( myself included) , may Allah guide us to set our priorities straight and give Love where it deserves to be given first.

Every other ‘love’ will then fall into place.
