Ink Protocol Community Update: Bibox, Coinbase Wallet, TC Disrupt, MakerDAO Partnership, Listia iOS App

It has been a very productive couple months since our last update. Big things are happening in the world of Ink Protocol!

Hi everyone! Here is a recap of all the great things happening with Ink Protocol over the last couple months. The main focus has been on building Ink Pay and growing adoption of the Ink reputation system both inside and outside of Listia. We also wanted to give a huge thank you to the community for all the feedback and support along the way. We are now closer than ever to being one of the very first widely adopted consumer blockchain applications!

Ink Protocol is Now Listed on Bibox

Thanks to you, Ink Protocol is now listed on Bibox! You can purchase XNK on Bibox using ETH or BTC here. This was especially exciting for us because the community was involved every step of the way. We received over 900k votes from 7,000+ voters during the Bibox community poll!

Coinbase Wallet + Ink Pay

The biggest news in August was definitely our Ink Pay partnership and integration with Coinbase Wallet! This partnership allows users to earn transferable reputation that can be used across multiple platforms on their mobile devices.

What’s Next for Ink Pay?

The development team is now primarily focused on the next iteration of Ink Pay, which will allow buyers to pay without having to set up a new wallet. You will be able to pay directly from your own existing XNK, ETH, or Dai wallet. In our user testing, this has been one of the largest barriers to usability so far.

Ink Pay is the gateway to getting broad adoption outside of Listia, so we want to make it as easy as possible to use. The best part about creating a standalone app, is being able to leverage all the transaction volume already happening in other marketplaces. This is always much, much easier than creating a new marketplace destination from scratch. We will focus on getting users in these marketplaces to use Ink Pay once the next iteration is done.

TechCrunch Disrupt

In September, some of the core team went to TechCrunch Disrupt to show off Ink Protocol and the Ink Pay app. We had a great booth there, talked to lots of amazing people and learned a lot about Ink Pay usability during dozens of demos. We also sold a lot of Funk Pop figures to people via Ink Pay :)

MakerDAO Partnership

During the end of September, we also announced a big project we had been working on for most of the month! We are working with MakerDAO to bring reputation and stability to buying and selling with cryptocurrency. The partnership brings Dai as a supported payment method on Ink Pay.

“At MakerDAO, we understand that for cryptocurrencies to gain adoption at scale, people and organizations need a stable and secure way to transact with each other. That’s one of the reasons we created Dai,” said Rune Christensen, CEO and co-founder of MakerDAO. “Integrating Dai with Ink Pay is a great step toward enabling day-to-day transactions on the blockchain.”

Listia iOS App Update: Biggest Crypto Marketplace on the App Store

Lastly, our long overdue iOS update was finally released, featuring full support for XNK withdrawals and deposits! We believe this makes Listia the first and largest blockchain-based p2p marketplace on the App Store! Most importantly, we are now one step closer to realizing our vision, and the world is one step closer to mass consumer blockchain and cryptocurrency usage!
