New Version of Ink Pay Coming Soon
We have been making steady progress on the next version of Ink Pay, which will be released around mid to late November!
Our Ink Pay app, which showcases all the great things you can do with Ink Protocol, is due for an update coming later in November. The entire product and dev team has been working hard to put the final touches on the latest Ink Pay app update, which brings much simpler buying for consumers!
During last week’s developer update, we talked about all the reasons why we believe DApps have a long way to go before reaching mass adoption, and a lot of those thoughts will be going into this new release. Most importantly, buyers will no longer have to download a special browser (Coinbase Wallet) or extension (Metamask) to simply make a payment. Instead, they will be able to pay directly from their existing wallet. That means, buyers can pay from hardware wallets, MyEtherWallet, exchanges and even directly from their Listia wallet.
Why is this so important?
Improving the buyer flow might seem like just a small upgrade, but we believe this is the #1 barrier and hardest friction point to overcome right now. Our sellers have no problem using a new app, because they are the ones that will benefit most from making more sales. However, convincing a buyer to learn a bunch of new things and transfer funds from one wallet to another just to pay someone for an item has been difficult in a lot of our user testing.
We think this update will bring us one step closer to building the foundation of decentralized marketplaces, and at least for the buyer, it removes the need to download a new app, create a new wallet, and pay any gas fees to transact and leave reputation for the seller.
Stay tuned for more updates and the official release date, coming soon!
