Thoughts of a mother — so, who does he look like?

If you thought that this question comes up as soon as your baby is born, then you are wrong! This question starts to come up when you start getting those vivid ultrasound scans!! And in case you thought that I was exaggerating then I have proof to settle you down. See this.

For all the ‘This time — Last year’ posts on the gram, Aarav is here to share with you his version of how he was chilling in my belly on 8th April 2019 at 21 weeks 3 days gestation.

With this scan, I knew that this boy was going to be his dad’s copy. When I told this to my family, they couldn’t see the resemblance, actually for some weird reason, they even couldn’t see a baby’s face in the photo! Do I hear again, that you don’t believe me? Well, then again I have proof.

This is what I sent to them over Whatsapp.

With his side profile clearly visible, especially the shape of his lips and chin, I knew he was going to be a mini-Rahil, just like in Lamhe (aka Indian summer) Bollywood movie, Sri Devi’s daughter was Sri Devi herself! Yes, just like that.

So, when Aarav came out looking like his daddy, it was no surprise to me. I do have my days of “Please ok, at least his eyes look like mine”, “His wrists are like mine” etc etc. but mostly it is all Rahil. Honestly, I am very happy about it. I mean why wouldn’t anyone. Because for us <mostly, I hope!> our spouse is the most good-looking person in the world as you look lovingly and longingly at them, hence I am super happy that Aarav resembles his dad. :) No, I am not wiping a tear while saying this, you are.

Although there is a silver lining to every cloud and I am discovering one now. There are chances that Aarav is taking his zodiac sign very seriously. He is a Gemini and for the ones, not so familiar with the lifetimes of Bejan Daruwalla — an Indian astrologer, made famous as the horoscope columnist on Sunday Times that my generation grew up reading, the Gemini sign represents two faces in one. And my family believes that Aarav’s smiling face is just like his dad’s and his resting face is just like mine…

Hehe, well now… I am not smiling! You are. :)
