If you are like most people, creating a good looking design for your t-shirt fundraiser can be a daunting task. This may be the single hurdle that leaves you feeling stuck, and unable to start raising money.

Artists and writers both face the challenge of an empty canvas, a blank page. So how do they get beyond that fear and create images that people like? They use a variety of block-breaking techniques. The good news for you, however, is that you have more options and they are much easier.

Option 1: Ask your artsy friend for a design

Odds are that you know someone, either a friend or family member, who has some creative ability. Reach out to them and ask for their help. You’d be surprised at how willing to help people are when it is for a friend, or a good cause.

Option 2: Do a Google image search

If you want to design it yourself, but need some inspiration, try doing a Google image search. For example, if you are raising money for a friend who was diagnosed with cancer, go to Google and search for “cancer t-shirt designs”. Then near the top of your page, click the Images filter. Keep in mind that these designs may be copyrighted, so you will not want to simply duplicate someone else’s idea. Use these images as inspiration to make something of your own. Switch around the colors. Change the sizing of the elements. Use a different font. Modify the wording. Doing these things will help you steer clear of any copyright infringement issues.

Option 3: Start with one of our customizable templates

We have a selection of idea starters for you to make your own. Simply start a fundraiser on our site, and select Start from a Template. Click one that you want to customize, and off you go. Edit the text, colors and garment, or use it as-is.

Option 4: Ask us for help

We like to think of ourselves as your fundraising partner. So if you need some design assistance, we are always willing to help. Feel free to give us a call at 1-(888)-862–2775, or send us an email at hello@inktothepeoplehelp.zendesk.com.

So you see, it is not so scary after all. Using these options, it is actually quite easy to come up with a great design idea for your t-shirt fundraiser.
