I changed myself and here’s what happened!

No, it’s not what you think! I absolutely did not dye my hair green! That would be gross in my opinion. 🤢 I merely used my brain to fix something about myself internally. It not only changed my life, but it changed everyone’s perspective about me for the better.

Everyone other than myself was what I carried on my back all these years. Their rotten opinions about me, their toxic relationships with me, and of course their negative impact on me.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?

A simple girl of age 12 had carried away my brain to the dumpster. I gotta tell you, a 12-year-old girl can have a huge impact on one. It did have an effect on me. I was biking 🚲 down the sidewalk on a LOVELY summer morning hoping to meet a friend after a long virtual time together. And there it was. She made a comment I thought I would never hear for my life — ”You look so…big. I thought you were an old lady or something while you were biking!”. Guess what people, I wasn’t big! I was just going through my growth spurt which left me a little cute 😊and chubby. Trust me, it happens to everyone at one point in their lives.

From this experience, I drained everything down the sink! I stopped doing the things I loved. I stopped eating! I can’t believe that I wouldn’t eat my chocolates 🍫 and ice-creams. You can NEVER go wrong with those! But, out of all of this, I lost something so fricking valuable — my confidence. I did everything from hiding my face to being the timidest and shy person you would see. And, the worst part was that people would talk to me like I was a half-dead flower. It was the worst ever!

It was a low point in my life and I wanted to be someone else so bad! It didn’t work out as much as I tried to be someone else, but life took a turn when I did something magical 🌟!

HOW DID I CHANGE?

Your life does not get better by chance, but it gets better by change. — Jim Rohn.

Yes, I have experienced a change. It was not as drastic as it may seem, but I did see a heck of a difference.

With the help of my family and my directors, I was able to come up with a solution that worked for me best. I started to think…what do I want to look like? What do I want to feel like? Now, it’s not the same thing as comparing yourself to others, but rather using inspiration and setting goals. Then, I started to think about what do I have to do to achieve that goal! However, that’s not the most important part. The most important part is trusting the process and having that belief of reaching those goals with happiness 😁. This process, this action made a difference in my life.

HOW DID MY RELATIONSHIPS CHANGE?

Now comes the fun part for me at least. I was this girl who was left out in the shadows and was used for only certain purposes — homework. Believe me, I was in the position of the nerd and the bully. It was not fun. But then, something sparked me 🌟 and I started applying this principle everywhere:

For people to like you, you need to like them first! (Not the impress people kind of way)

How best to do that than to talk to the peeps themselves. Open up! Laugh! Take leadership! NETWORK! I swear to god, this is something that I apply everywhere and the relationship works out with flying colors😉! Instead of beady eyes staring at me during presentations, I get “Let’s go!”, “I’m excited about your presentation!”, and “You’re gonna do great!”. It makes me wanna go WOOT WOOT 🎉out loud!

I just ranted about my experience and how I altered it with a few principles that were offered to me by so many incredible people. They built me and they were the ones who brought happiness into my world! You know these principles work when you say “MAN, I FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF,” every single day!
