Tell Me Why

A poem :)

Tell me why,

When you laugh,

Or smile,

I want to smile and laugh too.

Tell me why,

When I talk to my friends,

They ask me,

“When did you start saying that word?”,

And I realize,

It’s because you say it too.

Tell me why,

When I cry,

I picture you,

And I suddenly no longer want to cry.

Tell me why,

When I so desperately want you to know,

That I exist,

That I’m here,

That if you knew me,

You could like me as much as I like you.

Tell me why,

You make me feel so nervous,

When you seem to be just fine.

Tell me why,

I’m not good enough for you.

Tell me why,

Why is she better?

What does she have that I don’t?

Tell me why,

You make it so hard,

To simply say something,

Anything,

And see you smile at my words.

Tell me why,

Why can’t you love me?
