  • Businesses need to be on videos.
  • Being confident on camera takes practice. Work with a voice coach or a video coach. Work with people who can help you look better on camera.
  • Get grounded and relax. Know what you are talking about. People don’t care if you are in corporate or if you are an entrepreneur. They just want you to be real.
  • Focus on your audience. That’s how you get them to start trusting you.
  • You don’t have to be perfect. You just need to know stuff. Use bullet points to guide you instead of reading a script.
  • Practice in front of the camera. Really look at that lens as if it is the people who are important to you. Get a Wilson!
  • Loosen up a bit. Don’t just go and talk.
  • Breathe and pause. Most people don’t speak well because they run out of oxygen.
  • Nuggets are enough. Just get the information on your brain, then throw it all away. Turn on the camera and see what comes out.
  • People read words, they are only able to capture 8% of what you are trying to say. When people read your message versus watching a video or listening to an audio, they hear it in relation to where they are at.
  • People will hear your message more when you use body language.
  • Communication is not about words. It’s about how authentic and passionate your message lands for those people on the other side. Your words are nothing. How you sound is what makes you a good speaker.
  • Make sure that how you look is congruent with your message.
  • Try to make your set (where you are) not have too many distractions. Make it easy people for to watch.
  • If you want to be engaging, ask questions. Asking questions is great for engagement.
  • DON’T BORE YOUR AUDIENCE! Use a variety of sounds when speaking to them even if it’s uncomfortable for you.
  • Exaggerate when you’re on camera because a huge portion of it just gets lost. It’s not being fake. It’s because your audience loses half of you when you are on camera.
  • You have to be engaging to get engagement. Ask feedback from friends and strangers about how engaging you are and how dynamic you are.
  • Decide what type of videos you are going to have. There are different types of videos for different types of engagement.
  • The human brain and how it listens are just the same. People have to hear different sounds to get them to take action.
  • Technology can make a simple small business look absolutely innovative.

  1. #1 thing to be more innovative — Get out there and do something different on camera. Really study and think about what your audience needs to hear, and then, replicate that on video.
  2. Best thing for new ideas — Step out of your comfort zone. Study great mentors. Be willing to test and get feedback. Be creative and do what turns you on with your passion in life. Be innovative and keep going for it.
  3. Favourite tool for innovation — Quora and Facebook.
  4. Keep project/client on track — Create challenges. Challenges move people more.
  5. Differentiate — The thing that makes you unique is you knowing that there is no one like you. Owning it is all that matters. Know what you stand for and be nice.
