These are my reflections on a visit to the Van Gogh Seasons exhibition and what Vincent Van Gogh can teach us about Marketing.
Artworks by Vincent Van Gogh.

Key points and take-aways from this episode on what Vincent Van Gogh and his art can teach us about Marketing:
- Van Gogh’s inspiration from nature and the seasons
Van Gogh found inspiration for his art, from nature and particularly the changing seasons. He saw beauty in every season and understood the seasons as a cycle of life, with birth, death and rebirth as part of the cycle. - Marketing is a Journey that you undertake with your customers
Marketing is a journey and that journey is a cycle. Van Gogh’s interpretation of the seasons in his art and his writings provide a fantastic metaphor for the cycle of marketing and the communication of marketing. - The Marketing Journey is a transformation.
The marketing journey will transform your audience to leads, then to customers and then to raving fans and advocates of your business. At the same time, there is a transformation of both businesses to marketing mastery. It’s a cycle and at the mastery level the understanding is elevated and it becomes a system which is scaleable.
