Thank you so much to all of you who submitted the great Flipgrid responses!

So what conclusion did we all come to? The number one reason you should get certified is for yourself. Your own learning. Not just because it is leaning that can apply to all different areas of life. But also because when you learn, you are a better teacher. And that affects not just you, but your students and colleagues, your families and communities!

In the book Creative Confidence, Tom Kelly & David Kelly give us another reason to do it for yourself:

As legendary psychologist and Stanford professor, Albert Bandura has shown, our belief systems affect our actions, goals, and perception. Individuals who come to believe that they can effect change are more likely to accomplish what they set out to do. Bandura calls that conviction “self-efficacy.” People with that level of self-efficacy set their sights higher, try harder, persevere longer, and show more resilience in the face of failure.

The Flipgrid videos are great and the top reasons that emerged from them include efficiency, confidence, collaboration and community. Watch the whole collection; it is impressive to hear all of the valued and varied outcomes from Google Certification experiences.

One final thought. If you decide to go for any level of Google Certification, know your why. What drives you to do this? If you're not sure is meant by your why, check out Michael Jr's video on Knowing your WHY. It is 4 minutes you won’t regret.

So find your WHY and go get certified!

If you haven’t seen the videos, here are a couple of faves.
