The future is already here, in Berlin

I started to look around online for well-designed bikes with motors. Behold, Faraday is not the only company in this game. There are several refined e-bikes that have been on the market for years, made by companies in Europe. Particularly in Germany. Check out the beautiful designs by companies like Scott, Grace, Rolf and Müller.

Higher speeds require better suspension to keep the vehicle in contact with the pavement. The Riese and Muller bike design uses fully suspended wheels like you see on mountain bikes on its commuter bikes like the Delite. The bike starts to look like a motorcycle.

Grace is going for a fast electric urban vehicle with its Grace One, above, what it calls, the world’s first e-motorbike. I want one. It hides the battery, it looks cool.

These bikes are shockingly expensive however. I suppose if you compare them with the cost of a new car or new motorcycle, the investment starts to make sense.
