It’s time to GLOW!

PREPARE TO GLOW

  1. Register for the conference and fill out your profile on the Hopin platform where the conference will take place.
  2. If you are on a mobile device, try Hopin’s app for navigating GLOW. It is available on Apple’s app store and Google Play.
  3. Visit the conference website and browse the schedule located in the reception area. You can bookmark sessions that interest you and start building your own agenda.
  4. Remember, all sessions will be recorded, but our presenters would appreciate live audiences. Attend as your schedule allows.
  5. Follow our speakers and partners on Twitter to get a sense of their work.
  6. Our primary community is Actionable Innovations Global. You can join this professional learning space (free) if you are not already a member. This is where networking can continue beyond the GLOW conference.
  7. We still need volunteer moderators for GLOW. Sign up if you are interested!
  8. Join @GlobalEdAction, @DigitalPromise, and @MegGlobalEd on Twitter on Wednesday, November 16th at 7 PM CST (UTC-6) for a special Twitterchat from #globaledchat. We’ll discuss the forthcoming conference, and all presenters are invited to share a preview of their sessions. The first part is a text-based chat on professional development for global education, and the second part will be a live audio chat led by Meg’s Lottie Dowling about the GLOW conference in Twitter Spaces.

  • Global Nomads Group has developed programs that use storytelling to build empathy, dispel stereotypes and bias, and teach the power skills identified by employers as imperative in the 21st century. Their curricula are standards-aligned, culturally responsive, and feature global youth-generated content, allowing youth who typically do not “see” themselves in school curricula to write themselves into our curricula. Focusing on middle and high school students (ages 12–18), these evidence-based programs are highly customizable with flexible implementation options and language development support.   • Digital Promise is a global nonprofit working to expand opportunities for every learner, and it hosts many programs for students and educators.   • TakingITGlobal is partnering with GLOW by sponsoring a student art contest. Open to anyone ages 10–30, prizes will be awarded, and the theme is Dare to Reshape the World. The deadline is November 16, 2022. TakingITGlobal is one of the world’s leading networks of young people learning about, engaging with, and working toward tackling global challenges.
