The New York Times throws a copyright curveball at OpenAI, alleging the unauthorized use of their articles for AI training. The Times claims OpenAI’s models birthed “plagiaristic” prose.

OpenAI, in its defense, plays the fair use card, arguing that publicly available internet fodder is fair game. The plot thickens as OpenAI accuses the Times of crafting prompts to provoke “plagiaristic” responses, labeling cited instances as rare bugs.

It’s a techno-tango with OpenAI vowing to fortify its systems against such AI missteps. 1. Go to Copilot.microsoft.com.
2. Verify GPT-4 Turbo access by opening the page’s source code (Ctrl+U or Cmd+option+U on Mac), then pressing Ctrl+F and searching for ‘gpt4t’. If it appears, you have access.
3. With access, enjoy expanded context windows, improved and faster responses, and a more recent knowledge cutoff compared to GPT-4.

If ‘gpt4t’ isn’t found in the code, don’t worry. The enhanced features are gradually rolling out, and you’ll most probably gain access soon. You can use the same method over time.
