Remember Elon Musk’s tweet? He said he would drop the lawsuit if OpenAI changed its name to “ClosedAI”. OpenAI fired back with a blog post, and they countersued him, claiming that there was never an agreement that OpenAI would actually be open source (the name gives it away, but anyhow).

The battle is heating up between open and closed source AI. On one hand, there is X AI, Mistral, and Llama of Meta as open source, and on the other hand, there is OpenAI, Gemini of Google, Claude of Anthropic, and Pi of Inflection as closed source AI.
