Innovation for an equal world
Welcome to our blog!
We are the innovation team from Plan International, a development and humanitarian organisation with a mission to advance children’s rights and equality for girls in over 75 countries. We’ve been heads down setting up ‘Innovation as a Service’ and are excited to share our learnings so far from creating an innovation team, fund, portfolio and network. Follow Innovation Hub @ Plan International for all that is to come as we continue to innovate for an equal world.
In these blogs we’ll share our thought leadership and reflections from shaking up how an International Non-Govermental Organization (INGO) operates.
Innovation amongst (INGO) dinosaurs was never going to be easy…
Before we go any further, we better define the buzzword that we hear and read so often…
For us, innovation is about creating paradigm-shifting products, services and initiatives for social impact, driven by girls’ and young women’s needs.
Stay tuned for upcoming blog posts from Anneli Westerberg, Stef Monaco and Edward Duffus on everything from why your digital product should be feminist, to methods for girl-centred design, to whether an INGO can truly innovate. Our first blog is from Carly Redhead sharing what we did, what we learned and five reflections (about our innovation journey not about dinosaurs, unfortunately). Read it here.
We’d love to learn from you and welcome your thoughts, ideas and challenge! Follow our publication, share your comments, or get in touch by emailing innovation@plan-international.org.
Thanks for reading!
