A heart wrenching story of how an untimely personal loss led to the invention of a consequential solution to deal with the No.1 cause of deaths in the world. This story is nothing short of inspiration, in the truest sense of the word. This, is the next of our Inven Trust Innovation Love Stories

Q. Let’s start by listening to your own innovation story

A. This story started with a tragedy. While on a vacation in the beautiful land of Rajasthan, India our co-founder, Rajwinder Kaur, lost her husband to a cardiac arrest due to lack of necessary infrastructure and timely treatment.

A problem is not a problem until it hits you personally. A wife lost her husband and two kids lost their father just because of inaccessible healthcare. The journey of Incredible Devices thus started with finding the answer to how we could avoid such tragic incidents for others. WHO rates Cardiac arrests as one of the top causes of deaths, globally. 8 out of 10 patients are dying due to inaccessible or unaffordable healthcare. We knew we had to change this.

Q. What are you doing to bring this change?

A. Incredible Devices deals in research, development, manufacturing and marketing of medical devices through multiple distribution channels for both domestic and foreign market. The company is currently developing its patent-applied technologies to its final product.

Our plan is that each developed solution/technology will fill a current need in medical procedure by improving upon an existing technology or device, or by designing a device to serve a need that is clearly defined and acknowledged by medical professionals. Each product shall be priced to appeal to a managed-care market that stresses lowest cost of total treatment parameters.

Q. What is the impact brought so far?

A. The way we see it, there has been some very encouraging data to support our work. Our Catheter Reprocessing System (CRS) ensure:

· Affordable Healthcare for All: We have reduced the cost of catheters by 99%. This helps us provide accessible, affordable and safe treatment to millions of poor/BoP patients in India and other developing nations.

· Reduced Antibiotic Dose: CRS reduces Hospital Acquired Infection and as a result now, less antibiotic dose is required to treat patients. This avoid the misuse of antibiotics.

· 90% lesser Biomedical Waste: Now, 90% less catheters are required which results in less generation of hazardous medical waste.

· Avoid Disease/Viral outbreak: CRS provides a cost effective clinically proven, fail-safe way to disinfect catheters waste at point of source itself. This helps avoid viral outbreak due to accidental pilferage of biomedical waste.

· Green Technology: CRS promotes safe reuse, reduce carbon footprints and save water.

Q. What problems does your innovation solve and how?

A. Incredible Devices is a medical devices start-up with a mission to make healthcare SAFE, AFFORDABLE & ACCESSIBLE for all; irrespective of social status, economic class and geographical reach.

As mentioned above, according to WHO, Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the no.1 cause of death globally. India has the highest number of cardiovascular in world i.e. 32 million. Moreover, unsafe dumping of Medical Waste is leading cause of diseases & viral outbreak infecting millions.

Incredible Devices invention called Catheter Reprocessing System(CRS) is a made-in-India machine. It is a revolutionary machine which reprocess angiography/angioplasty catheters and helps in reducing cost of catheters by 99%. This makes treatment safe, affordable and accessible to saves millions of lives every year especially Base of pyramid/ poor patient. CRS also make catheter safe to dispose off and avoid viral/ disease breakout.

Q. What are your plans for the future?

A. We are slowly and steadily penetrating Indian Market. As we progress, we are looking to partner with global institutions that share a similar mission.
