Vikram Goel, Co-Founder & Director of Incredible Devices talks about the unbalance between healthcare and its costs.

As the famous saying goes, healthcare is a right, not a privilege. With times we are witnessing a rise in healthcare costs even in regions such as India which was earlier not the case.

The healthcare industry is different in a lots of ways. When a patient avoids or delays needed care, or abandoning treatment because of unaffordability, it sends out warning signals. Many a times, patients have no idea about the implicating costs. Say, for instance, an emergency where the priority is on getting the patient treated and there is no scope for a discussion on costs. However, once the time of payment arrives, it could lead to a financial crisis for the patient and the family.

This is a very specific problem that Incredible Devices is challenging. With an intention to make healthcare more accessible, this company innovated and developed the CRS machine which is likely to reduce the treatment cost for cardiovascular diseases by up to 55 per cent. This means reducing the catheter replacement process by 99 per cent! Says Vikram, “The machine is fully automatic and adopts a stringent cleaning process for removal of microbes and antigen for each catheter. Using this machine, catheters can be attached with the press of a single button, thus eliminating the need for any human intervention.”

True, healthcare shouldn’t bankrupt!
